Review on 🎩 Khaki Boys' Accessories - Outdoor Research Rambler Sombrero for Hats & Caps by David Stewart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Believe the hype! Waterproof to boot!

UPDATE: The child is now 5.5 years old so almost 2.5 years later he still wears this hat almost every time we spend a lot of time outside. For us, that's a ton. The edge is still in great shape, it survived SO. Aside from his sweaters, no other worn baby item has received as much use, love and time from him as this hat. Just buy this for your kid. You will not regret it. So if you're looking for a versatile baby hat that will cover your feet in wet, dry, windy and very hot weather, this is your chicken dinner winner. I have included the size labels that came with the hat as well as the hat itself as many of the reviews I have read were contradictory or confusing. I look forward to all of our future adventures with this hat and rest assured it is covered! Khaki is great too. Something like a grayish khaki color that suits everyone. I tried several other baby hats before settling on this one. We live in Florida, it's VERY HOT there. And wet. We needed a lightweight, waterproof hat that offered adequate protection without being bulky or bad looking as the Dinosaur Park Ranger look was becoming very important. I love that there is a loop that goes around the neck including a pull tab at the top of the left ear which doesn't come off very easily but would if forced to. Most kids hats I found had velcro or no velcro at all. We also love that the head size is adjustable! This is perfect for my almost 3 year old. But can pull up in windy weather to help or just improve the fit (he likes it a little looser). And water simply rolls off ALL aspects of this hat. Finally, the brim can get wet but won't drip in his eyes, and the brim is flexible but strong so it doesn't smack his face like the other baby hats we've tried did. When carried in a car seat/stroller the brim will flatten but it is still a little uncomfortable for the wearer. Although I wasn't very happy that I spent almost twice as much on this hat as most similar kids hats at Revain, I would happily pay again, after seeing this piece in action during windy, hot and humid downpours. here in FL summer. In the end the panels are allowed to get wet but they won't drip in his eyes and the brim is flexible but strong so it doesn't smack his face like the other baby hats we've tried have. When carried in a car seat/stroller the brim will flatten but it is still a little uncomfortable for the wearer.
