First, the design of this scratching post is excellent. My cat loves it and uses it more than any other scratching post I've bought in the past (and there have been quite a few). But what could really spoil an absolutely excellent product is poor execution. Staples are visible on the scratching posts. There are gaps where the rope doesn't cover the cardboard underneath. And on the material from which the round pads are covered, protruding threads stick out. I think once my cat destroys it I can try to upgrade it myself and make something that looks nice and doesn't look sloppy... Just in case the manufacturer reads this - I'd pay twice as much, if i could produce this item with good workmanship.
