StarTech USB 2.0 to Gigabit Ethernet NIC: Great Product!

Our family recently upgraded our Internet service to fiber optics, which enables symmetric upload/download speeds of 300 Mbps has. My PC had a USB Wi-Fi adapter designed for lower speeds. Our installer suggested that I get the best network speed for my 8 year old PC by purchasing a USB Ethernet adapter that would be hardwired to a router 20 feet away. After purchasing a discounted adapter that wasn't connected to our network for over an hour, I researched further on Revain.com and found the StarTech adapter. I ordered it and it arrived quickly in two days in perfect condition. I installed the manufacturer's drivers which Windows 10 Pro automatically updated to the latest Windows 10 Pro drivers for this device. I plugged it into an available USB 2.0 port and it was immediately recognized by the device manager in the operating system. A quick test showed that the adapter works perfectly. I then connected a CAT-7 Ethernet cable from our router to the adapter and it established a network connection to the router on its own within 15 seconds. I immediately had a gigabit connection to the router. USB 2.0 is limited to a network speed of 480Mbps, so I ran a network speed test using my OOKLA software, which I purchased for free from the Microsoft Store. It showed a download speed of 310 Mbps and an upload speed of 285 Mbps. Our installer had previously warned me that I might not get full 300Mbps symmetric speeds since all my USB ports are full. However, I was amazed by the performance and ease of use of the StarTech adapter. With a two-year warranty and lifetime tech support (should I ever need it), I find the StarTech adapter a steal for older PCs that are limited to USB 2.0. This adapter turned out to be my best find on Revain.com!
