My cockatiel loves it. This is a much wider and cheaper perch than those available on the bird market. It has no wall edges, so it won't ruin or break their tail feathers like it would with closed window bars. It's extra wide and roomy, great for adding foot toys, food, or anything else that can be shredded. The only thing that would be a good addition for you, the bird owner buying this, might be to open up the fabric and add a valve. You can then add a board or something else to make your bird feel more stable. My bird enjoyed walking on the bars the most as he wasn't used to fabric sinking in. As this is a cat perch it is not designed for birds but it easily opens and swaps out to add a removable liner. The fabric is also made to not catch on the animal's claws, but be sure to trim the claws enough as they can still snag on it. One more thing for bird owners, there are 3 rows of suckers, but don't add the top row of suckers. Your bird will chew on it, it's pretty stable even without this row as birds are a lot lighter than cats. Also, check the tightness of the screws from time to time to make sure the little cups haven't come loose from turning the beaks. 5/5 is an easy to clean, comfortable, strong and fun window/mirror rod.
