broke when used in short box
They broke after less than 2 years of use in short box. To fit in the drawer, they were compressed to a minimum of 12 inches. In the attached picture you can see that the two small hooks on the plastic cover that hold the spring in place are broken. I suspect it's because the plastic couldn't handle the high compression spring tension when used in the short configuration for over a year. I have other units of the same drawer dividers that have worked well in a much longer drawer for over 10 years, TLDR : They are likely to break when used in very short boxes
