The neck is SUPER stiff as others have said, it doesn't have much movement either. I was disappointed that it doesn't have a power switch. To turn it off, turn one of the dials all the way up, which means you'll have to remind yourself where it was previously set every time you want to use it. I think you could just turn it off each time you're done with it, but depending on where you have it, that can be tricky. Each time I had to crawl behind my computer desk. *update* Item broken after 2 1/2 months.
