It works, but it is not the same size as the mattress. I don't like the Stokke mini mattress in this respect either. Smells like chemistry. It's worth the extra cost to get the organic/natural mattress they sell. A large, full-size mattress may seem fine, but a bassinet mattress doesn't feel healthy for a toddler. I returned mine. The sheet for the mini mattress is also questionable - very thin and medium cotton. If I didn't like the design of Stokke growing up with the kid I would return it to another brand.
