The plastic is of good thickness and appears to be quite durable. Queen's 12-inch memory foam mattress had to be compressed so it could be zipped shut. Due to the tight fit, the zipper was a little tricky, but doable for one person. Two valves made it easy to deflate, but the disposable silicone stopper got sucked into the vacuum and had to be fished out. The mattress took quite a while to compress, but as I said, after compressing and installing the valve covers, it held the vacuum well. Rolling up the mattress was quite difficult but again the bag held up. I found the included straps make things a little easier. I used a ratchet strap to tighten the rolled up mattress and then used the straps that came with it to secure the roll. In general...due to its heavy weight, a queen-size memory foam mattress can be quite difficult to move on its own, and it wobbles. This vacuum system has made moving and storing so much easier which is worth every penny of its price!
