I have long fingers and big hands. The thickest part of the holder has to lie flat, otherwise I feel uncomfortable. (Woman here, this info helps.) I had to train my fingers to accept the holder. As I got used to it, it became easier to work with. The material is matte, which provides an extra secure grip, as the Apple Pencil and most input pens are very smooth and very slippery. This design prevents your Apple Pencil from rolling away. It is durable for everyday use. I use mine about 8-10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. Can't speak to cleaning as I haven't had to clean it other than disinfect on arrival. I keep my hands clean so as not to damage the materials. If you have large hands and/or long fingers this product may be for you. If you have small hands or little fingers it may take some time to get used to the thickness unless you are already using similar instruments for regular writing instruments.
