Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced SEO: Retrak Car Stereo Adapter - ETCASSETTE by Brent Borseth

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Lasted less than a year with very careful use.

I bought this pretty much exactly a year ago to replace my previous cassette adapter. While the sound quality was good and the retractable cord was a nice feature, the cord already gives me problems with the audio only coming out of the left or right channel until you wiggle the cord around the jack. Even that hasn't worked for the last day or two, so now I have a choice of one channel or no channels. One of the reasons I did this was the retractable cord. My previous adapter just had a long flat cable that got stuck several times in 3-5 years of use, including under the passenger seat adjustment guides. Despite this, he continued to work long before he died. Knowing this, I bought the ReTrak so I wouldn't have to experience this situation again, and it spent 95% of its time almost fully retracted with just enough wiggle room to fit my phone in the cup holder. In other words, this one had far less wear and tear from physical abuse than my previous one, and yet it failed for no apparent reason. And it comes from a man who is very careful and meticulous with his belongings. I wouldn't recommend this and am currently looking for another product, ideally with modular cables. and yet failed for no apparent reason.
