I have heating pads that I use for my legs and cramps, but they are never enough when it's cold in the house and I needed to warm my whole body. My husband often likes to open the windows for air flow or even turn on the fans and I WILL FREEZE. We also go camping a lot and on cold nights in our RV it was great. I've wrapped myself up in it most nights over the last month to enjoy a movie or show with my family. They are all warm blooded boys and they call me the ice queen because my hands and feet are always cold. I am pleased to note that this is not like the electric blankets I remember from the 80's which were very heavy and had large cords. If it's not plugged in, you can't tell it's not just a blanket. It's soft and silky and has an auto shut-off if, like me, you want to sleep with it on. I have the 50x60 in gray to make it look like a regular quilt.
