I bought this nailer because the flooring required this gauge and it just isn't commercially available. In general, the nail is fine. Not yet. In our second room, the floor cracked, distorting the orientation. Replacement parts are not available in any store or even on the manufacturer's website (although the manual tells me to go to their website for replacement parts). I called the manufacturer and while she was very nice her only solution was "let me see if I have these parts in stock and if not I'll send you a new nailer." Although it might work , I have to 1. wait for either option to materialize and get them in the mail, and 2. hopefully the legs won't break on this one if they send me another nailer. If you are considering this nailer because your soil requires this caliber CHOOSE A DIFFERENT GENDER. RUN NOW. Another downside to this nailer: it doesn't hold many spikes at once. I can only put on one row of boots at a time. Therefore, you should pay special attention to when you are done. TLDR: It generally works, but since this is an unusual pin gauge I would definitely consider using a more conventional nailer gauge if at all possible.
