Laura Mercier vs. DermaBlend vs. Dior

After my surgery, I went in search of the perfect scar mask. All of them have been recommended by dermatologists, but one clearly outperformed the others: Laura Mercier, without a doubt. Here's the difference I found (below). Please note that these comments apply to Caucasian skin of a variety of tones. Laura Mercier has a slightly yellow tint to offset the purple pink of the new scar. Yellow and violet are opposite colors on the color wheel, so the yellow hue makes the violet-pink color literally invisible. This will completely make the scar disappear and only a minimal amount of product is required to hide it. It lasts all day. Really amazing stuff. In contrast, DermaBlend matches your skin tone (or lighter) so if you apply enough product it will give coverage at first, but the coverage isn't as effective and doesn't last as long. However, DermaBlend is great as a cosmetic concealer under the eyes as it's a bit see-through and brightens the area, so I only use it for that now. It's just a soft concealer for the face, under the eyes etc with a moisturizer in a stick which means it applies gently and has a nice translucent look (if that's what you're after) but it's not serious I hope anyway this is helpful. - Julia
