Cats can hop in and out at will, while dogs can just poke their nose in and look around before giving up. I was very unsure what size I needed for one of the cats as he has a little more love, but a 5 inch spacing is just right for him. I contacted the company through their website and was assisted by Nicholas who easily answered all my questions and did everything - even tiktok to show me how the locking mechanism works. I love how I can easily open the latch with one hand, sometimes a finger when my hands are full when I enter the room, and I can easily close the latch behind me when I leave the room without me Having to worry about cats being trapped. I would buy this product again if I needed it for another room in the house.
