This gives us nice and bright warm white light when I need it and colors when I want it. We like to leave our desk lamp on all night, but we like it when it's very dark and sometimes turn it on red so there's enough light to find our way around. But while we're awake, we want it to be light. Our old color changing bulb was very dim, so we actually changed bulbs during waking hours and put in a colored bulb when we went to bed. This lamp solved that problem. In "normal" bulb mode, it's a very nice warm white color (like traditional incandescent bulbs) and bright enough to light up our room. In "Color" mode, it's not as bright as the "Normal" lamp setting, but it's definitely brighter than our old color bulb. It should be noted that the bulb is slightly taller than some of the other color changing bulbs I've used. was and it barely fit under our lampshade, but our lamp is very small. Another reason I chose this lightbulb is that it is not a smart lightbulb. I don't want or need a lightbulb that connects to WiFi. It comes with its own remote control that turns the lightbulb on and off and adjusts the colors. It has everything I was looking for. Ideal!
