Very large digits (both large and bold) make reading easier. The backlight is a bluish background light that lasts a few seconds and is very easy to read both in the dark and at dusk. My previous watch was easy to read in the dark, but the light didn't seem to help in low light. The light is much better here. Edit: First 50m water resistant watch I've had that can't play water volleyball (although the WR50m shouldn't be good enough for swimming). Disappointed but I love it so much I think I'll give it another try to see if another one survives. Edit 2: Well after 0 out of 2 I give up. Bought a second one and it was ok in the water. However, the watch broke where the strap attaches when I took off my coat. As much as I like it when it works, I won't buy it a third time.
