Review on North Face Thermoball Insulated Jacket Outdoor Recreation in Outdoor Clothing by Abdullah Huan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good build. Bad landing.

Good assembly. Good materials. A lightweight. Decent warmth-to-weight ratio. Inconsistent and strange landing. The jacket is good in almost every way except the fit. The fit is referred to by The North Face as "Slim Fit". I'm slim and athletic (5'10", 162 lbs). The torso and shoulders of the jacket fit as they should (I wear medium in all other North Face clothing) but the sleeves are very thick and baggy. It looks like they took the body of the Medium jacket and sewed on the sleeves of the Extra Large jacket. On a person my stature the look looks pretty ridiculous.I also noticed that when trying on the same jacket from different editions depending on the season (e.g. 2020 and 2021) the same jacket fits differently, even the same jacket in different colors and patterns fits differently. This is really stupid and annoying considering how much these clothes cost.(If you make your own Looking closely at North Face's marketing images of this jacket, you'll notice that some colors/patterns work for models with very roomy sleeves while others don't, it's beautifully obvious that way soon you notice it.) online that sucks if it fits right. I recommend trying exactly what you want before you buy it.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance
