Another curse of aging is increasing snoring. It got so bad for me that my husband couldn't sleep. At my sight of snoring, I made noises as I exhaled. Since my mouth naturally closes during sleep, all the air through my nose flows through the almost closed soft palette. This mouthguard allowed me to lower my jaw naturally, while the mouthguard keeps another breathing hole open through my mouth. The combination of the nose and mouth (or even better, if my tongue stayed "under" the shield and didn't block the hole) then my snoring was greatly reduced to just heavy breathing. Proof of this is my husband's best dream. The mouthguard is a soft silicone mouthguard that is comfortable to wear. It's just as annoying as wearing braces, so you'll have to get used to it. But like retainers, it can be done. Easy to clean with rinse aid/scrub.
