We tried tomy Tippy and Contigo cups which are so difficult to clean. These amazing bottles are so easy to clean and we never have any build up. We started it with our daughter when she was 2 years old (now 4) and with our 1 year old. Both children love her. Leak proof unless you turn it upside down, but only what's in the straw comes out, so not super messy at all (comparatively). Our daughter also used it a little on her teeth and chewed off some of the silicone on the mouthpiece. I took a paring knife to remove the silicone residue. just in case. After that, it's usually used as well, since there's a hard plastic underneath. We have them in 5 different colors/patterns
