Works but needs parts

Easy to install. Looks like stock. At the same time he screams. Is working. Update: 05/31/2018 Added washers between starter and block. The scream is gone, like a stock starter.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Weak

Cracked Casting: Electrical & Batteries

This starter was not even fully installed when the mounting hole tab broke. Now when I tried to remove the starter the bearing stuck to the end of the shaft and now the only way to take it apart is to pull out the motor and take the crankcase apart.

Pros
  • Hands Free Operation

It seems to work, but for how long?

This starter screams like a banshee when the start button is pressed, unlike the comparatively quiet OEM version which lasted four years. It sounds like the screeching of metal snapping, so his life seems short-lived. If that fails within the next 18 months, I'll deduct a few stars from this rating again. If it lasts as long as the original I'll add a few.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Non-automatic
