I purchased these LED lights to replace the bulbs on my 2009 HHR SS. Real light bulbs generate so much heat that the plastic around the bulb can melt if the lampshade is left on. The LED versions of the domes don't raise the ambient temperature at all when left on for long periods of time. They also draw about 1/10th the current that old incandescent bulbs used. I don't know how to rate it. They are light. There is supposed to be juice, but the manufacturer's quality corresponds to alien. I tried 2 others and they clicked well. Hence the poor build quality. I took 4 loose and tried them on another truck and they were loose there too. Almost fails. I took 2 tight ones and they snapped in nicely. The discrepancy kills them and they come back. I installed this in my Dodge Journey. Since the original bulbs blew out, I replaced them with these. During installation I noticed that the metal ends that power the LED are smaller than the original lamp. I matched the numbers and the site said it was compatible. Unfortunately they are just loose and when I open and close the trunk (where they are installed) the light randomly comes on due to poor contact being smaller than OEM. I tried compressing contacts from the car but it doesn't work…

I like that they are so bright, I really like them. Blow me away I still feel like I can't see anything. As soon as I was done. I noticed that they behaved very badly. One of the lights started turning itself off when plugged in. And it wasn't a loss. I had to keep banging the bracket to turn the light back on. The other two lamps were fine. But also. Three 42mm cords used in a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria - one in the main dome light and one in each of the rear reading lights. They're bright enough - definitely brighter than the original incandescent bulbs - and run a lot cooler. Whiter light is a bonus.
