The initial appearance of the belt was good but with the insert it was very stiff. Unfortunately, the leather finish was not durable and scratched and wore out very easily. After a few months the belt started to look quite old and worn out and no longer suitable for the office. Also, after about eleven months, the insert broke in several places around the buckle, preventing it from closing properly. I was very disappointed with the build quality and wouldn't buy anything else.

I've been wearing it every day for many years. They last well and look good for a long time. Final demise will come when the inner plastic layer finally cracks and you feel like it's completely busted. Degradation takes about 2-3 years. Ideal for concealment and looks great in the office with your khaki pants. I will buy this belt as long as they make it.

If you use the same hole each time, the belt will snap and become brittle at that point. The Permastiff insert will then buckle making insertion/removal through the belt loops difficult. Based on my usage, this problem started appearing within 2-3 months. This probably wouldn't be an issue if you're primarily using it for everyday use. However, this is done in order to safely support the weight of the weapon. The rating has been updated accordingly.
