Nice part but my spare engine isn't compatible

Normally an easy install but one of those parts that is built into the valve cover on newer engines. And since I replaced my 5.3L Vortec on my 2005 Tahoe with a later 6.0L box, you can't just push and plug the PCV valve. I have to replace the entire valve cover. Most likely, not many people will have this problem, but it's worth paying attention to.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Fits

Easy replacement part so you don't have to buy the whole lid!

This part is designed to fit the newer 2005 and up 5.3 liter engines found in most Tahoe, Silverrado etc vehicles and pressed those little parts into the valve cover! But you can "gently" tap it out with a hammer if replacement is needed. Removing the valve cover is a must for access and I recommend cleaning the oil crust from the inside of the valve cover. Also, screw the hole just below the PCV valve to 5/32" to allow excess oil to drain back into the head and keep the smoke plume from…

Will not fit 2006 Escalade

Of course I didn't know until the returns window was closed. I just didn't install it right away. Apparently the PCV valve is built into the valve cover on the driver's side on most Escalades. Ironically, I didn't know this when I started the install and felt like I just didn't know how to finish the job, so I didn't do it that day. Luckily I searched the internet for an easy way to solve it before taking it off. And once again I found that it's not removable, it's simply a bleeder valve…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Almost never

There is no need to change the whole cover when you have a new style

Like the first review says it can be knocked out with a hammer oh there's a better way much easier to do this, but it's still the same end result compared to replacing the entire cap. Now you need to replace it if it's an old style cap but like me I have a new style but for some reason the PCV valve that was on it was bad and I didn't notice until the return period had expired. Definitely a new cover if you don't already have it, but if you buy another cover again you don't have to, just swap…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are nuances
