Just 1 month later I bought this item, this item suddenly burned down in my office. It's too dangerous and terrible. I will never buy anything from this seller.

I can use it to dock my laptop

I use it to dock my laptop with USB-C port I connect a USB hub for mouse and keyboard and I also connect a second monitor. I like that the hub also charges my laptop. Great device

Stops working within 1 year

I would recommend not spending money on this adapter. After a few hours of use, it heats up enough to burn you if you touch it. No wonder it stopped working after a few months.

Working, no overhead

I'm writing this review in hopes of saving other people a headache. I've tested so many HDMI/VGA+ charging adapters and this one really works. Most of the ones I've tested will overheat and cause the monitor to flicker until the adapter is unplugged and cooled. I had this adapter displayed + charged three days in a row and had no problems. The adapter also felt colder than others I've tried.

Equal or better in every way than the $70 Apple version for 1/4 the price.

The overall length is about 2 inches longer than the Apple version. The braid is more flexible. The functionality is identical except for the USB-C port. In the CableCreation version, the USB-C port works for data transfer (connecting peripherals or phones for syncing) or charging a computer. The Apple version only works to charge the computer. I tested their daisy chain connection and it works for USB charging and data transfer, but each USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) port on a MacBook only supports…

Excellent quality as a mini dock or just as a VGA adapter

Need a 'dock' to connect a new laptop to my old VGA monitor. Connected (Windows 10), ba-dup, recognized and working. Nothing simpler than that. There is also a USB 3.0 port which I plugged into a 4 port USB hub I had lying around. Wireless keyboard, mouse, external hard drive and external DVD drive work without any problems.
