While the product is durable and easy to clean, it doesn't really serve a great purpose. They say the meat will thaw in about 30 minutes, but it takes several hours. While it's nice to have as a last-minute helper, it does the same thing as simply running water over meat to thaw it. I was really disappointed with this product and probably wouldn't buy it again.

This is a gift for a friend who had never heard of them until she saw mine at a party. (The one I have is over 40 years old.} A friend is delighted with what I sent her because it defrosts very quickly and she uses it often. I'm glad she's happy but I like those four red ones don't need to be placed on the corners of the plate and then peeled off and tucked away each time you use it. If it were mine I'd put Gorilla Glue on it. I know they're there to lift the plate up a bit on the countertop…
