Latency on my Amcrest NV4108E-HS. It seems that the resource requirement for the NVR is too high.

I replaced two Amcrest IP4M-1026E (4MP) cameras with these two 4K cameras. Everything is hardwired. While the 4MP cameras ran perfectly smooth (live) at 15fps on the NVR's HDMI output to a 4K monitor, the 4K cameras lagged/stuttered - not horribly, but intermittently. I'm just watching the clock playing. seconds are behind us. then run to catch up. You get an FPS range of 8 to 23 instead of a constant 15. That's not how it should be. I had to drop the resolution down to 20 fps at 6.2…

Very good quality - hard to access microSD card slot

Another good Amcrest camera. Very durable, good picture quality. There's no mention of the location of the microSD slot - nothing about it in the camera box. I opened the camera, tried to find a slot, couldn't find it, closed it again, thinking that this model didn't have a built-in shot. After ticking the box, I found that there is indeed a microSD slot somewhere. But. Where? No instructions, no links. You have to search the internet to find "How to". The microSD slot is in a very…

Good POE camera to security cameras

I already have the same type (or even model) but from Hikvision. For the street I needed a wider viewing angle, so here I changed the 4mm to 2.8mm and voila, everything is fine. It interfaces with BlueIris CCTV software (highly recommended if you have a spare computer with recommended specs). The picture quality is good, there is a built-in microphone. Overall a good camera

I use a POE camera system for home security and to monitor my home remotely when I'm away for long periods. Overall I was impressed with the Amcrest camera and the 8MP is significantly better than my current 2MP daylight camera in ideal conditions. WDR and other image enhancement features work very well. The night vision was acceptable but I have found that I get a sharper image and better quality with my Dahua Starlight cameras after changing the Amcrest camera in the exact spot where I have…

Finally, Amcrest external camera with sound

Very good high definition (8 MP) external camera with Ethernet power supply and one-way audio. Pros: - Video quality is excellent, especially when compared to Amcrest dome cameras. The main reason is that the infrared heater is not covered by glass, so there is no glare from behind in the dark. With one-way audio, this camera is great for capturing additional information.
