Cap made from an alternative material just not suitable for tobacco. It's so perfect for a container and I always buy the same brand, this one instead of a hard non stick lid, it's sticky and bland and not good for tobacco at all. Apparently it's for the microwave, but I never use it because of all the RF emissions that ruin the health of the food. I don't think boiling plastic is the best idea anyway, but these things are mostly bulletproof, very glad they come in such a small size.

Looking for glass storage containers I found lots of drawers: holds a lot (7 cups, great for my homemade chicken broth), good latch on the lid, solidly made ) . Is it any wonder that they are so difficult to handle when they are completely damp and the glass jars from the fridge or freezer are not damp? A silicone ring on the outside would be very helpful. I ordered this item because I have other similar items and I really like the 7 cup find useful. The lid of this item is different from the old design. Older caps were made of harder plastic and could crack over time. The new True Seal cap design uses a softer silicone rubber material. The glass bowl has the same solid construction as other Anchor Hocking and Pyrex I own. I am giving this item a 4 star rating based on the quality and performance of the product.
