ANQIAO Haversack Musette: Rugged Military Canvas Bag for Ultimate Durability Review

This bag matches the one I bought at a flea market around 1977 and have used for everything ever since. The only downside is that the strap is shorter than I expected and feels like it's made out of nylon rather than cotton.

US Army field bag M36, 95% similar to my father's bag, which he took from France to Austria in 1944-1945. The buckles and clasps are tight but of poor quality. fit and finish are close; Flap and side pocket do not merge neatly.

cheaply made but adequate. The big problem is that the D-rings for the shoulder strap are attached to the bottom of the bag. So using a shoulder strap will result in the bag hanging upside down. It was useless to me so I returned the $30 bag from my own pocket to ship back to China with no refund.

The original WWII accessory strap (which goes over the shoulder) for this bag had metal D-rings on the ends, not carabiners. The carrying straps that connect to the bag are already fitted with carabiners and will snap to the D-rings of the (proper) accessory strap when used as a shoulder bag rather than a backpack.

What a great bag! Two inside pockets make organization easier. And plenty of space in the main pocket. I don't know what to use the two outside pockets with buttons for, but. It's nice to see that a waist strap is included to keep the pack in place during quick movements. Taped seams feel comfortable. Shows pride in craftsmanship. Hang it outside to give it character. All in all the best bag.
