This item ripped after two uses. Luckily I ordered 2 of them. After each use I drained all the liquid from it. I would expect this item to be, if not waterproof, at least waterproof.

Great product! A little on the small side, but that's ok. You don't need a large bowl to make foam. Shaved with it for 6 months. Excellent purchase!

This wooden shaving bowl is very well made. Very durable and big enough for one shave. Not damaged at all by water or soap. It also has a very nice rustic and old fashioned feel to it. Highly recommended.

Loved the look. The finish is not as good as it should be for a product intended to be exposed to moisture. The finish was flaking and wearing away faster than it should; what caused the crack. I'm a carpenter and I understand that all wood needs repairing when exposed to moisture. However, this product should have had a more durable finish. If you purchase this product, plan on applying a top coat within the first year to prevent damage.

Good bowl, feels good in the hand. It's only the size of your palm, so you have to be careful with shaving cream. It is waterproof and leaves no residue. I got it because I'm picky and hate the sound of a brush hitting a metal bowl.

I bought this for my husband. He didn't look enthusiastic at first but he used it with his shaving oil etc and he really liked it. It also looks beautiful.

Approx 1 1/2". You can clearly see where the crevices inside and out have been filled with wood putty and touched up with wood stain. Luckily for me I have Bought it not as a shaving bowl which would be constantly exposed Bought to use as a photo prop and it should fit well as it is an attractive bowl If I were to receive one without chipping I would be enthusiastic about the quality/processing.
