Good product for fish and aquatic animals

I would say this works wonders for plants that are already hardy but if you have plants that need rooting this is not a substitute. After using it for 3 months I have noticed that my plants are growing well and have beautiful leaf color. The lid has easy-to-use measurements for dosing. I would like to note that I have not used any other method or product to add CO2 to my aquarium, so I cannot vouch for this being the BEST product available. But it does the job for my 10 gallons.

Preferred vs. Flourish Excel

I don't know why but my tank seems to be doing better than Excel. Maybe it's in my head, but I tend to get *more* GSA and other algae when using Excel. I also dose Seachem Phosphorus and Potassis every other day or so and regularly Seachem Flourish about half the dose every 1-2 weeks. . This stuff causes algae outbreaks in low tech (in my experience) and daily or every other day dosing of K and P seems to work best for me. I add API CO2 in the morning before I turn on the lights.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Good alternative to CO2

Cheaper than Flourish Excel and does the same. Warning, this can harm your fish and even some plants. My plants are doing great and I can't link that to the death of the fish. I've had TWO fish kills (knock on wood) in the 18 months of using this product and I can't say they were caused by this product. To be clear, I probably have about 100 fish. If you don't want to tune CO2 or don't have time to tune such a system, then this is a good alternative.

Pros
  • Very good value for money

  • High price

The API CO2 Booster works very well.

API CO2 booster seems to work very well I have several small 10 gallon aquariums that I use to propagate my plant cuttings for use in my larger aquariums that have CO2 injection systems and all in the 10 gallon tanks are very well done. The attached photos show one of my 10 gallon tanks and almost everything in this tank started 8-10 weeks ago as clippings from other tanks, even the fire moss in the lower right hand corner was a small 3" x 3" clump. from another reservoir and more than twice…

Good for plants, bad for fish

I recently started using this in my son's 15 gallon aquarium and measured it with a pipette as it is a small aquarium. I will say my plants look good. Don't think it's just that because I also use Thrive for nutrients and substrate (nutrient) tabs. What worries me is that two fish have died since I started this two weeks ago. This is a healthy fish that I have been eating for about 6 months. And I'm sure it has something to do with it. I gave this 3 stars because I understand using it in a…

In just a few days my new Small Stauroe (SP) plants started to grow and became more lush. The thing works great. I think some people claim it killed their fish, the instructions say 1ml for 10 gallon tanks and 5ml for larger tanks, if you look at the side of the cup on top of the lid there are 2 measurements. . 5ml and 10ml. The 1mL volume is a small indentation on the inside of the bottom of the cup lid. I wonder if they assume the first measurement on the page is 1ml without reading it. It is

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Quality

It's hard to measure just how much of a difference this can make, but dosing it in a small tank isn't easy. I have Fluval Edge 6 gallons so it should be around 14 drops daily. I only do 8 drops because I have shrimp in my tank and don't want to squeeze out too much oxygen. The measuring cap is only for much larger reservoirs, so I grabbed some 5mL syringes and 10 gauge needles so I could dose in drops. I've seen reviews (not of this product but of other aquarium stuff) where people talk about…
