Type of review

I use it for a multi-chamber rover. One is an Arducam 5MP motorized focus camera, the other is a 5MP fixed camera and I'm not sure yet what the rest will be. I've only tested it with two cameras and it works fine. But here are a few caveats: (although I wasn't a programmer I bought it) First for some reason we had to start with the first camera in port D and not A as you might suspect. This might just be our implementation, but as far as I know we made very few changes to the example codeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Works on my Raspberry Pi 4

At first I couldn't get it to work on my Raspberry Pi 4, I got it wrong on the first try. But now it works on my Raspberry Pi 4b. What I don't like is that I try to email the company for help but haven't received any help from them.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Almost never

Will definitely be ordering more in the future!

After trying to figure out how to program this adapter and get it working, it was nice to have something that could work with 4 cameras at the same time! I will definitely buy elsewhere in the future!

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Some problems

Outdated quality compared to latest version

The latest version of this board was extremely easy to use, with only 3 address bits and a stackable design. This new one uses three bits plus the SPI signal and cannot be stacked. To be honest, the only improvement over the latest iteration of the adapter module is the ability to use racks. Otherwise, this product is more difficult to use than the previous version.

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Unstable computer components

The documentation is fine - there are Python and C++ demo scripts. The readme is most up-to-date for C++, but I was able to determine the Python version fairly easily. The multicam adapter works, but is unfortunately unstable. One day it will work perfectly and be able to switch between cameras or launch cameras at the same time. But the next day you get errors without making any changes. If they can offer stability, that's a great solution.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Something is wrong

Great product with great support

I had some problems with this product initially and the support was very helpful with the step by step guide. Turns out I had the cable the wrong way round and the product works great!

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Is there anything I can add
