Description of πŸ”Œ Enhance Outdoor Electrical Safety with the Arlington DBVR1W 1 Weatherproof Construction

in BOX's one-piece assembly replaces the installation of an electrical box and bubble cover assembly. Installs in the wall, so less of it shows outside. Use the retrofit IN BOX on plywood, T-111, and other flat surfaces. Install option: Cover is removable for easier device installation. No gaskets required.

Excellent weatherproof box

This is a great outdoor electrical box. I live in a mountain country with unpredictable weather. This is my third purchase of this particular box and I recommend it for the ease of installation and for keeping your plugins safe in inclement weather. Buy with confidence.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not for everyone

Cheap material, cracks in 4 corners

I bought 3 outlets, no problems with the installation, a few weeks later (winter in Colorado) I went out and checked that all 4 corners of each outlet were cracked . Vinyl siding I had to tighten the screws to hold them in place. I think it uses cheap material from China, it's a waste of money

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Clean low profile design.

The box leaves a clean, unobtrusive look, which was my goal. It's such a deep box by design that you probably can't connect anything that has a transformer connection. This can be seen as a disadvantage if you are connecting low voltage lighting or similar. The door is not clear as in the picture. The door lock does not engage properly. A little blow drying and bending and the latch works as it should.

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • not the best

Easy electrical installation

I have a 2x6 stud wall with wood paneling. So for my installation purpose it was perfect. Seems to be solidly built, solid plastic but thick enough to hopefully hold up. I wish I could measure the overall depth from the back of the bezel because I'm not sure how well it will fit a 2x4 stud wall. you better take a look I will use them wherever I can. I used my own gasket as their gasket was too stiff to likely mount the unit flush to the wall.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Disappear

Simple old working setup.

Good product, durable plastic. The kit includes a small roll of sealant that installs behind the mounting flange. I have a 2x4 construction in my 1960's house so I decided to install it on the existing sloped side wall because the box is very deep and I wanted to keep some insulation behind it. The box easily includes a GFCI socket. All in all this is a really good product. Although the box is expensive, I would definitely buy it again.

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • High price

Great product for the electrics

This box is fantastic. My first contractor used it. When my second contractor placed one of the other terrible options that includes an electrical box and cover on top of the siding, I immediately went in search of it. It took some time to find the right search terms. They have the best looks and the lowest profile despite being a lid to use. It certainly needs space *somewhere*, so it's deep. I have an old house with small rivets, but the outlet is mounted on an elegant shield, which makes it…

  • Electric Boxes
Cons
  • Quick Guide

Very high quality product; Great Design

This is a very high quality, beautifully designed product made from heavy duty thick plastic and comes complete with screws, fixings, sealant and terminal plates. Easy to install, especially if you have an oscillating square hole cutter. One thing to note is that this is deeper than the standard 3 1/2" 2x4 (about 3.85" deep) so make sure your wall is deep enough for this to work. I have the one with the white cap which I suspect is stiffer and holds up the sun better than the clear cap one. All

Pros
  • Electrical
Cons
  • So Far So Good
