Description of Astromania Telescope LRGB Inch Filter

Take your astrophotography to the next level with this filter. All filters in the set block ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) wavelengths for higher contrast CCD images. The ASTROMANIA LRGB Filter Set includes four filters, 2" luminance Filter, 2" Red Filter, 2" Green Filter 2" Blue Filter. This LRGB filter set allows you to use your monochrome CCD camera to put together high resolution colour images. Combining separate images taken through these filters produces finer resolution and amazing color. Red, blue, and green filters plus the haze-eliminating Luminance filter give you stunning results. The LRGB set features dichroic glass filters designed for maximum transmission. The color filters have an IR-blocking coating, and all filters are parfocal to eliminate the need for refocusing between exposure sets. Attaches easily to any 2" astrophotography accessory. The anodized aluminum cell threads into the nosepiece of an astrophotography camera or filter wheel.

Flimsy and Ineffective Telescope Filter

When I tried this electronics accessory, I was extremely disappointed. The filter was cheaply made and barely made a difference in the quality of my astrophotography. The colors were barely noticeable and the filter didnt seem to do much at all .The only positive aspect is that it was easy to attach to my camera. However, I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on this ineffective product. Stick to higher-quality filters for better results..

Pros
  • Enhances the color contrast and details of galaxies, nebulae, and other deep space objects
Cons
  • Restricted to only four specific color wavelengths, limiting its use for certain astronomical targets

Green filter produces triangular stars

Having finally had time to use these filters I have to say they work very well. Except for the green filter. For some reason the green filter gives me triangular stars. After some research I found out that it was the pinched look. All other filters work great and I am very happy with them. However, the inability to use a green filter makes true color imaging very difficult. It took some time to make sure that the problem is actually with the filter. But that's really a problem. I tried…

Pros
  • Combining individual images captured with these filters produces higher resolution and amazing colors. The red, blue and green filters as well as the brightness filter that eliminates haze deliver amazing results.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
