I purchased this fire striker for my camping trip, and I`m so glad that i did! As my tests showed, it easily creates sparks to ignite a fire, making the process much quicker than conventional methods. It's compact size also makes it perfect for anyone on the go. Excellent product. Overall it's a great lightweight combo. a good general directional compass, I wouldn't bet my life on it but that's ok. A scraper is way better than lighting my fire. Being two different types of firesteel I would say it tends towards the soft side rather than the light side. My fire isn't that much better, I just prefer the softer ones
