Black Diamond Climbing Gloves Medium Review

For all the folks who complain that they fall apart under heavy use, these are climbing gloves. You can't use it if you're doing activities that cause a lot of friction (like roofing, shingles, they'll break right away). The material is soft and supple, making it easier to grip stones, but unfortunately it also wears out quickly under rough use. Nevertheless, I leave this rating at 3 stars. These gloves did a great job on my recent climb to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite. A few others we've seen have tried using $5 leather gardening gloves or even lined bike gloves to lift those cables (google images and you'll see what I'm talking about) and had all sorts of problems.
