Good stuff on gloves and mittens

Bought these over a year ago and finally got a chance to try them this weekend. I went to winter camp on the Mackinac Road. (At the northernmost western edge of Michigan's Glove -- Wugashance Point.) The temperature was 2 degrees before the cold snap, and the wind was howling at about 30 miles an hour. It was bad weather. I'm a woman, I catch cold easily and I absolutely loved the fact that my hands stayed warm. In such an environment there must be no open skin. The hands were fried.

Great mittens for extremely cold conditions

Pros - Very well made - Extremely warm - Can use a different outer lining in warmer conditions - Fairly good dexterity for these thick mittens Cons - Used size Black Diamond and Gloves are still a little tight on my fingers. - The clips holding the two gloves together feel quite small and flimsy and will probably break first - My hands tend to sweat in them when I go hiking, even on 0F days my breathability could be a bit better. More information. Too warm for anything around 20F in my opinion…

Great Mittens, HORRIBLE Size Chart

My hands are often cold so I need really warm mittens. This is compliant. They're really full. Can't comment on durability yet, but I give them a solid 4 stars because they keep your hands warm. The problem with mittens is that if they're too tight, two bad things happen; 1) All of the insulation is wrinkled, making it less effective as insulation needs to trap air to be effective, and 2) overly tight mittens (especially around the detached thumb) reduce blood flow, which isn't great for warm…

Fantastic pair of mittens

As many other reviewers point out, I have poor circulation in my arms and legs. Hiking/skiing in the Northeast almost always gets my hands and feet cold (I would use an outer coverall with a fleece glove and a cloth glove). they were wonderful! They are very comfortable and kept my hands warm as I walked down the mountain. I used the measurement chart and it pointed me to the medium. but I ordered a big one anyway as I usually wear it. Looks like their measurement chart might be accurate as the

Gloves too tight for cold weather

I have very small hands. Slightly wider, but still narrower, according to Black Diamond's size chart, than their Small size (and much shorter at 6.75 inches). So I ordered medium. As soon as I put them on I clenched my hands to make it clear my circulation was going to be negatively affected, these mittens were SO tight. Of course my arms were my arms, the mittens were also over an inch longer (seemed more like 1.5 but it's hard to measure), they appeared at the top of 2 or 3 lists of "warmest…

Well Made, Small?: Cold Weather Gloves

I bought these for an upcoming ski trip to Colorado in February, so I can't rate the effectiveness of the insulation. My fingers get numb even at 40 degrees so hopefully they work! But I can say that my hand measurements were above by the small and below by the medium, so I ordered the medium and they are perfectly correct. So if you're not sure, order a size up (I think the Chinese have smaller hands?). They appear to be very well made. It is very difficult to pull the cord to tighten the…

The editions are very small, no free returns.

Very warm, well-cut mittens. However, they work *at least* one size smaller and returns are *not* free. I usually wear medium sized gloves and have a hard time finding gloves that are small enough as most men's gloves only come in L and above. I had the opposite problem with these. I ordered the size Large and had to return it for the Extra Large size. Again, returning this item is not free, as is the case with most items available through Revain Prime. If you have big hands I would suggest…
