This tie is narrower than advertised and definitely not silk. It's a cheap synthetic material that doesn't look shiny. Some synthetic microfiber ties might be fine, but this isn't one of them. The color is more or less brown and it's a tie otherwise I would have given it a star.

I bought some of these for my wedding and they were rubbish. I found them and ordered them and holy cow what's the difference. You are perfect. They are not too thin, not too fat, not too yellow and not so pale that they only look dirty. I am happy about this

I was looking for a nice long maroon silk tie for my wardrobe. I wanted silk and very long because it's lighter and thinner than other materials so it doesn't add bulk when tying difficult knots. This beautiful silk tie, while looking nice, is a little thicker than I would like. There is extra padding which I assume fits better. So for the Windsor knot that's fine, but anything more complex would be too cumbersome. Knowing that, I would go with a regular length tie from this manufacturer…

There were 5 groomsmen mostly bartenders so I ordered 7.
