We bought these little cups after seeing them being used in Ethiopia. I thought they were very pretty with a cool mix of metal and glass. I use them every morning to make espresso. They hold a good two ounces with room to spare. I estimated the point where the handle folds in and almost touches the glass to be around 2 ounces. I wash it in the washing machine with no problems. The metal handles are connected at the base with a metal band. The handle/tape is attached to the glass by friction. So

One of the four mugs in our set had an apparent manufacturing defect. The rim of the mug in question had a flat rim with sharp edges on the glass. The other three had a rounded, convex, very even rim.
