BraceAbility Turf Toe Brace Straightener Review

The strap around the toe is very short so I could barely pull it over the toe. Oddly this is for a broken big toe and the strap around the break is very short so trying to close the velcro hurts. It also didn't fit in any of my shoes without a lot of pain. However, it works when you walk around the house barefoot or when you sleep.

The pull up worked great for about a week. Mostly it was comfortable. I have found that putting on socks causes the side/bottom part to curl up a bit and needs to be straightened out or it will become painful after a while. After about a week, the velcro began to slip off and became unusable. For $30 I can buy daily lawn tape to last longer, or even just plain duct tape.

. The part should be stronger and less flexible. Also, the part covering the big toe is small and doesn't offer much room for adjustment. I don't have huge big toes and am very limited in one place with velcro. There's not much flexibility or room for customization.

I bought this and tried it because my toe always hurts. I tried it for 24 hours and wasn't sure what it was supposed to do. I have a very small and thin foot so I never felt like I could pull it tight enough. It was comfortable but I wish it was tighter. This may work better on a larger foot. I returned it and they refunded me most of my money, I think there was a restocking fee or something, a few bucks.

This was recommended to me by an orthopedist when I brought my 7 year old grandson with a broken (right, big) toe. We ordered it thinking it might be big for him and he wouldn't be able to wear it. But before we could come back, I broke my (R big) toe. So I use it and I really like it. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to put it on, but the instructions were pretty clear and I really feel like it gives my toes support and comfort. I'm glad we had him.

Go ahead and buy if you've got a nifty thumb that fits in a tight toe that could easily include an extra inch of velcro to close (a size 10 man's feet, btw). Easy to put on most of the time (instructions may need some tweaking) but metatarsal wrap doesn't hold up well enough to really prevent toe pinching from hyperextension. The small round Velcro fasteners don't hold up very well either. Everything has too much camber and not enough stability to keep the tip from moving up.
