Headphones I have a microphone that did not work on my Samsung Galaxy

I bought this version of headphones from Android to use with my Samsung Galaxy. It's quite difficult to find decent Android headphones with volume control and microphone. The product I got is 2 out of 3 where the sound is decent and the volume control works but there was absolutely no microphone on my device. It wasn't my intention. Still holding up after 1.5 years.

Bought this on recommendation from The Wirecutter in June 2015 and was not disappointed. I use them daily on my commute to work (when I'm a passenger, not driving) and they haven't let me down yet. I have a degree in recording, I'm a former musician and DJ (not that it matters) and they sound great. me. I run them with "Viper4Android" on my Galaxy Note 4.
