You've come a long way baby!

I wanted to replace the incandescent lights in the master bedroom ceiling fan with warm LED lights. I was blown away by how clean, clear and warm the LED lighting was. The industry has certainly come a long way. Dimmable, yes. And no flicker. Standard type dimmer not intended for use with LEDs. Interesting. Bad flicker: lightbulbs

Media could not be loaded. A few years later, the old lightbulbs in my bedroom ceiling fan blew out. Bought hoping they would last and save money. The fan and light are on separate switches with dimmers. The packaging says it can be darkened unlike many other reviewers. I put them on and I like the brightness (has the equivalent of 40 watts, two bulbs in one fixture). Included. And it flickers pretty much continuously. Brighter than other equivalent 40W bulbs. Pleasant warm color temperature

I had a set of 6 equivalent 40w bulbs in a chandelier. One burned out very early so I figured I'd grab a set of those. The old ones had an upwards facing design with a plastic crystal so the light fell downwards. These lamps use LED "filaments" to diffuse light in all directions. They are MUCH brighter than the old LED bulbs. I also like the warm color temperature. Bluish light is bad for you, especially if you expect to sleep at night.
