I use this on a table lamp that blinded me with a regular clear bulb. This light bulb is just what I needed. It gives off a lot of light and shines into a lampshade where I get a bright diffused light rather than a direct bright light hitting my face.

This bulb does exactly what I want. The chrome plate keeps the light out of our eyes on a small, short table lamp. Some reviewers say it doesn't last long, but I use the lamp for about four hours every night and the bulb is fine.

Ideal for the mid-century modern arc lamp. Previously it could not be used hanging over our sofa as it would glare the guests. With these bulbs we get glare-free light. I wish there was more than online but we bought extra!
