💻 Cable Matters Long USB 3.0 Cable, 10 ft, Male to Male, Black, USB to USB Review

Too bad I had to give this USB cable set 1 star, there are 2 USB cables in the bag, one works and one doesn't. I have purchased other Cable Matters products and have never had a problem with them, unfortunately whoever made and tested this particular product had serious quality control issues.

They're well made, but I've learned you need an active line for them to work beyond 9 feet. I didn't know about them and they didn't work because they are over 9ft tall. What I learned about USB 3.0 is that it is very demanding compared to USB 2.0, especially in terms of cable length. I can't fault the design of the cable and in fact I will be using it in a USB 2.0 port as it can run a very long cable.

I always look for a USB cable that is longer than what comes with the charger or product. I hate when I get a charger and the USB cable is only 8 inches long. This allows me to expand almost any USB connector system into a connector system. The length is great. It works out. There's nothing worse than plugging in a new USB cable and realizing that the problem is that the cable you just bought has an internal connection error or bad wiring. I bought them to use in our car. We bought DVD players in the headrests for the kids. The DVD player included a weirdly short USB cable. Probably 3ft but looks like 1. Ordered to extend the USB connection from the wall to my media center computer which is in my A/V rack.
