CableCreation SFF 8087 Female Controller Backplane Industrial Electrical Review

Based on our own experience, this connector is easy to install and provides a seamless connection between devices in our industrial settings. The cable length is sufficient, and the slim design allows for easy cable management. The quality of the product is top-notch and comes at a reasonable price. However, the size of the connector might not be compatible with all devices.

On my Dell PowerEdge R320 I was able to connect this in reverse, which definitely doesn't work. I think it was just my server board, it probably didn't have a newer connector that ensured you couldn't connect it backwards. However, if I align it correctly, it works fine. Please note that when I used it, my server was 1U, so the connector interferes with closing the case. It's decently long and sticks out, but since there's no room in the case for four more drives, I only used it temporarily.

I had to replace miniSAS with 4x SATA my Dell PowerEdge T420 was kinked like the last one and didn't work anymore. Since it shows it's used to connect to motherboards, I took a chance instead of paying $30 for the official part. This item works, but there is a communication error with the drives that makes it unusable in the T420. I then tried an ASR-2405 PCIe adapter and a pair of ASR-6405 and ASR-6405E PCIe adapters, with which this cable works very well.
