Cambro 1218CCW135 Camwear Storage Polycarbonate Review

The only complaint is that the lids and drawers are sold separately. I love these storage boxes because they are transparent. I don't have to open every box when I'm looking for something.

Bought based on reviews (would have liked a notched lid) but received a solid lid with no notch (as described in item listing). So I was disappointed that I didn't receive the item I wanted (notched lid) but it looks like they are now shipping the correct item.

The lid is a bit difficult to open and close but I can handle it. I bought this for my commercial fridge which doesn't have the usual shelves and drawers. I use it for my veggies and it's great because it stays fresher longer and I don't have to spend as much money throwing away spoiled fruits and veggies.

Ideal for a sous vide water bath. I cut a U-shaped hole in one end for the water bath heating/circulation. Uses a hole saw and band saw and no problem with the plastic - I was of course as gentle as possible. It fits my 1/4" diameter circulation pump all the way around, just like I wanted, and definitely reduces evaporation and heat loss.

Pros: Quality Cambro LidCONN: Lid was notched when shipped. Listing is for a hard cap / doesn't mention anything about nicks or cutouts. The returned item does not match the description in the listing; I need a strong lid. Asked for a replacement - and it was notched too! Not for listing return and refund request. It's a shame that you can no longer rely on good products.

Lid does exactly what it's supposed to and fits the container it was designed for. My only complaint isn't the lid at all as I bought it with the intention of cutting it open so I could use the Anova lidded immersion circulator. As such, the material is quite strong and difficult to cut, which is definitely a plus for those who don't plan to cut it, just not for my purposes.

Got a different lid than the others in the reviews. The lid I received was already notched. I wanted to do this as I will be using it with my sous vide but the notch is slightly larger than my sous vide. I was planning on getting a full cap and trimming it myself as I would have a tighter fit and less air/moisture loss, but that doesn't matter. I won't bother about returning it and looking for another one, it will do.

I have an Anova immersion thermostat and I cut this cover to match the Cambro box to create a well sealed, low evaporation water heater. Cutting polycarbonate was fairly easy - I used a carbide disc tool at about 12,000 rpm on a dremel and cut through a layer of masking tape. I'm not an artist so my lines aren't perfect or pretty, but the lid isn't cracked or chipped and has held up very well to the procedure. The cover material is very nice. Fits in the box it belongs in, fits snugly but doesn't snap into place. It's designed to keep other things out of your grocery box, not as a tight enclosure like a Tupperware container. It is properly designed and a lot of care has been taken to avoid cross-contamination. Falling food juices either stay there or can drain down the sides without dripping into the box itself. However, I would like it to be a bit thicker or have internal stiffeners for strength. The staggered fins would make this…
