My legs are thick as wide and chunky...which is great I didn't have to put lotion or anything on my legs to slide them into the plastic piece...they are a bit small, i religiously wear a size 8 and i bought a size 8.5 because it's the size i would get in time and i'm so glad i did... so you can order half a size bigger, especially if you have wide legs...that's great, the arch is a bit steep so you can add those supportive gel pads.
