For some reason I was expecting more "shiny" / nylon / spandex (typical leotard material) but it is very soft, stretchy, good weight cotton material that's not too hot for a spring/summer dance without being see through at all, heavy enough to look like it will hold up well in the wash, and I don't make mine worry about it getting stuck.
