Bought size 5 for my 4.5 year old but they fit me perfectly. It's a little big at 45 pounds, but not bulky at all. They were a little big, but with the adjustable waistband, they fit perfectly. I didn't want perfect. I wanted them to fit for a while so I ordered 6. They were very long but I just tucked my legs in and used the adjustable waist. They have held up great and at least fit this and next season and are at my expense. These are good Carhartt materials and I can see they will last.
