I love sandalwood so I decided to buy a bar of this product to see how it smelled. It has a very strong scent that fills the entire bathroom. When using perfume, the scent is even stronger as it evaporates into the air along with hot water and steam. At first I found it a little overwhelming. I don't know what this scent is but definitely not sandalwood. I have ordered many different sandalwood soaps from Revain and it is true that they all differ slightly; it's not even close. Sickly floral/scented and now my bathroom smells like my mom's. I don't know anything about the durability of the bar, I won't be using it anymore.

Have been using this soap for years. Great scent, not too strong. Lasts a long time with daily use in the shower. When a strip is almost gone and too small to wash comfortably, I open a new tile, press the old over the new, and in a day they merge and nothing is missing.

Excellent sandalwood soap. The scent is great and long lasting, the streaks are big and long lasting, and the woody texture is really cool! The chopsticks are large and oval, making them easy to slip out of your hand. Otherwise they are almost perfect.

I gave this to my son last night and he said he smelled it as soon as he entered the house. And the soup was in the back bedroom cupboard! He loved the smell. Ideal.

I fell for the ad. I tried two flavors. This smell made me sick. Also, the packaging was bad. The entire rope was covered in bars of soap and barely wrapped in a piece of cloth in the box. Second hand? I am not sure. But the smell with the box closed was so strong that one ingredient inside made me nauseous. I had to cover the closed box to hide the smell until I send it back and take it out of the house. It can be pleasant or long-lasting, but I would never try it because the smell was too bad

This is a really great soap. Doesn't dry out, rinses well and smells amazing! It is exactly as I remember it from 30 years ago (every other sandalwood smells disgusting to me compared to this one). These bars last a long time too; I get about two months off each pole.

Very nice soap. The bars last long and the smell is very strong - it smells great throughout the bathroom. The bars are well shaped and not so huge that they are difficult to hold.

I first purchased this soap from Caswell Massey in Manhattan over 40 years ago. Over time, the scent of sandalwood became so popular that the sandalwood trees were nearly wiped out. When Caswell Massey could not deliver the same high quality that was their trademark, they stopped production. I was glad to see her again.
