I used to store my brushes in a portable case. But when they're wet, they dry best bristles up, so I put them in a mug to dry. When I noticed this holder, I jumped at it. Not only is this perfect for drying my brushes, but it also allows me to see all of my choices when selecting the brush for an art project. I like it! They were very easy to put together. I assembled everything before realizing it came with instructions. Ideal for storing colored pencils and fine markers. Thicker markers are not suitable. The base is waffle-like with square indentations that keep your stationery in place. I wish the indentations were deeper, because with crayons at least, pencils tend to slip out easily when hit from the side. This device has slots wide enough to hold a variety of pens, markers and pencils. I've got everything in there from double-ended tombow markers to mildliner liners, BIC disposable fountain pens, and other random stuff. It's easier to use than a pencil case or an artbin (where I keep my other stuff). I liked it so much that I ordered another one. As long as it's pretty strong. It comes disassembled and you assemble it yourself. It takes about 20 seconds to put together and then it's ready to go.
